Ford probably just decided that the Explorer was not going to sell anymore units even with a redesign.
Instead they’ll be working on the all new europe only Ford Go Kart. How much smaller of a vehicle do you think that the world’s leading truck manufacturer can make without calling it that?

I would hope that the new EXPLORER look like the EXPLORER AMERICA Concept. No doubt the Navi-globe would never make it but still. A can’t miss if it did.

The Flex in my opinion is Hideous attempt at a People Mover reminescent of the Late 1950′s or very Early 60′s like the Leviathan Ford 61 Starliner Wagon or 1959 Edsel Villager Station Wager but taller.

Its ok and if there is one place for an experiement in Ford’s Line up I guess that will have to be it.

I have only seen a handful of these Ford Flex’s on the road though

My crystal ball is ready – it’s going to be the same size as the Acadia twins to better compete with a full-size crossover market… As if the Flex wasn’t enough.

I have to agree with Lion, I am sure they have a good reason. I think we all can agree that this particular car at this time is not a priority.

I sincerely hope it looks nothing like the Flex and more like the America concept. But I donnknow because I see mules that look alot like Flex and that ain’t a good thing. Either they are really good at disguising the true metal and using old junk to do or its new junk. I donnknow which it is. Keep me posted!

Unlike most car companies in Detroit, Ford has been using its delays pretty wisely. Maybe it’s just because I don’t care about Explorers, but I don’t think the delay is a big deal if it means that the time will be used to improve quality. There was a delay on the Edge and from what I’ve been hearing from folks that drive them is that they love the things. I think all the posters here have bemoaned the decisions of certain car companies to rush to market with future rustic lawn planters.

Oh and Ford hasn’t stolen any money from me whilst simultaneously upsetting hundreds of years of American jurisprudence on bankruptcy. For that alone I’ll give them a pass.
