Yes please petitioning Alan Mulally about Aussie’s Ford Falcon, and we have heard in the news how the Australians have howled at Ford for the Falcon. Well then let it be known you don’t want to let it go.
I think it gives Ford a taste of being more Global if they keep it.

Well as you Australians would probably say to me. Mate you need to tell Allan Mulally you want to keep the Falcon in Australia and tell him that the Falcon is to Australia the way the Ford Mustang is to Americans just like that. We Love our Ford Falcon the way you Americans have romanced the history making Ford Mustang; then you have at least touched on a Nerve to Mulally. I think he’s a fair man.

Yeah well Toyota has take a good hit now worldwide with Brake and Accelerator issues in many vehicles. I think, Wall Street Analysts think, the critics think, and many investor think Ford future product strategy is brillant. But I am a firm believer it can always be better. Many of these products are coming by way of Europe as they have had a much freer flowing hand and taking Ford to new levels of advancement. Hey I feel that way about Ford all over the Globe. And I think that is a way to let both Mulally and Bill Ford know what side their bread is buttered on. Australia is very important to Ford.
You simply go to Ford’s site and email under general comments directly to Mulally.

And that’s a problem? The biggest problem with the Falcon is that it’s a great car inside and out…and that is something Ford USA will never sell.

The Taurus SHO(W) is a joke…even before you compare it to the Falcon.

The Falcon is a proper sport sedan. The SHO(W) is a Camry-bland, throw away appliance…again, like all the new Fords.

Ford has lost all ability to build a nice vehicle that rides well, handles well, is reliable, good looking, and a quality product. Instead they are quickly becoming America’s Toyota.

What are you talking about? I don’t think the 4Runner has anything to do with the Edge either. I was responding to someone else’s post who compared them.

actually read your post, I would concur the 4Runner would eat any crossover
for lunch on some (fantasy) off-road venture…as if.

And you clearly are also in the minority…the grille is the best thing about the new Edge.

I do like the blacked out grill for the sport model, though.

This Edge is hideous (and still very unneeded and useless). The interior is Camry bland, and the exterior is just a “design” disaster. That grille…what were they thinking?

Once again, Ford takes an incredibly ugly vehicle and makes it uglier. I swear they are on a mission to build the most ugly vehicles of any manufacturer.

It’s time for Big Al to go if this is the junk he is going to produce.

Oh and Trevor York, you are both clearly in the minority and certifiably deranged. If you prefer the 4 Runner or Scion over this, you must be a female.

yeah, jake, i see a lot to like here in terms of numbers and design targets…reducing noise…new engines with decent economy and good power (the mustang v6? not too shabby)…some utility in the interior with that fold down passenger seat for long stuff, etc…i wish the sport had a fully blacked-out front end, more like a raptor, without that chrome strip…the key will be what the initial driving impressions are like, and then the actual tactile “knock on the door” test…

there are a lot of cars that we read thousands of words about, then see in person and think, “really? no way!” because you don’t like the heft of the door, or the sound it makes when closing, or the plastics of the interior bits you knock on (because you know these are the spots where a manufacturer skimps)…that’s why auto shows are nice, they let you take all that knowledge and opinion you built up online and then go climb around in one and see if reality confirms what you read…in some cases it does, in some cases not so much…i’m skeptical yet optimistic in this case…it sounds like it could work out…but we’ll see…

@A4 – I agree; this looks like it will be the face of the new Explorer too. I see the similarities with the new Edge and the Explorer Concept. Awesome.

Leftwing – you said the Focus looked good on “paper”? You seem to be just as dissapointed as me with the actual execution on it (drum rear brakes, cheap plastic on doors)… I think the Fusion and Taurus looked good on paper too – but the Fusion especially doesn’t really cut it inside. It’s still very rental-like and doesn’t have the same flair as does some other newer midsizers. In no way should it have been Motor Trend’s COTY.

My 2 cents and I like what Ford is doing, they just need another Generation of Fusions to be a really good competitor.
