well, a foose f150 or fusion couldn’t possibly be in the same category as a hemisfear, so it hardly dilutes the image, really, it just bifurcates it into production-modified and limited-edition/one-off custom…. kinda like Saleen…. hmm…. maybe ford needs to merely build less “inferior” products… (I mean it in the economic sense… things whose sales slip when consumers have more money are deemed “inferior goods”… great, I knew high school econ half a decade ago would come in handy. sweet)

Foose doesn’t want to work for Ford or any other big company. I think he’s happy doing what he does and being his own boss with his own company — Foose Designs.

In one of the “Rides” episodes, I believe Ford design chief, J. Mays, said he tried many times to lure Chip into his design team.

Why relocate to Dearborn, MI, suffer cold-ass winters, and be a corporate guy when you can trick out rides, be your own boss, and enjoy the 365-day sunny So-Cal life?

Yeah Chip has been selling out a bit lately but HE REALLY does know how to trick out cars… yeah they should give him a design contract and turn him loose with a clean sheet of paper and let him do them from scratch… several cars. Now THAT would be a bold move… too much for FORD to do as they wouldn’t have the guts to do it… starting with the Mustang before the camarro and Challenger come out…

foose and trucks shouldn’t mix…I’d like to see him do just something to the 500 or fusion and help redesign a grille that doesn’t have 3 thick bars

Quite frankly, I could care less about a tricked out F-150, but something cool could happen with the Fusion. They could make a V6 AWD performance model. It’d be similar to the Mazdaspeed6, but since it would most likely use an NA V6 instead of a Turbo I4 they’d still be different models. Assuming, of course, the Mazdaspeed6 is still in production at that time, because Mazdaspeed vehicles are usually a limited time offer. I do think the Fusion has the potential to be an exciting car, it just isn’t yet. So good luck Mr. Foose.

yeah Foose has been a bit of a sellout lately.
this will be his only successful pitch:
understated design, with significant/big power increases. no wild body kits, nothing outdone. His F-150 should look no more extreme than the FX2 model Ford has just put out, or the Roush F-150′s, and it should have about 100 more horsepower under the hood, with an absolutely amazing exhaust rumble.

Im not so sure about that, lately Foose has been selling out, nothing like he used to be before Overhaulin’ got really popular.
