I love real SUV's. I simply cannot get myself to like the CUV craze that has blown up in the last few years. I want a truck based body on frame SUV that is capable of pulling a boat, go off-roading on the weekend and looks like a man's truck. The CUV's all look like odd shaped station wagons for nerds. I think real truck based SUV's like this could easily become popular again if manufacturers would embrace hydrogen combustion technology and start using them in these type of vehicles.

So what is this I hear about the government's new lower bumper standards? I assume this is why the new Super Duty and Range Rover have the ridiculously low front bumpers that look out of place on an SUV? They def. take away these vehicles capabilities. I for one would remove these lower bumper deflectors.

Andrew, thank you for the Married with Children reference. Everyone knows how you can quiet a bird just by throwing a blanket over the cage. To pacify johnny just throw on any episode (even the ones after they jumped the shark) of the Bundys and I'm pretty much totally oblivious to the rest of the universe.

Al would have loved this truck. And who knows, with that fold flat 3rd row even Peg might have got a jump on a good night.

status,
I think your getting the g-wagen confused with the Hummer H1...no G-wagen will be able to withstand a house...only a Hummer H1 could!!

Remember the Excursion? THAT was a pretty badass SUV. Not as nice but nearly as cool as a G-Wagen in pure "I'm gonna run over your house"ness.

@DenverGuy217: Dealers tend to get '10s before media fleets. We're at the mercy of what we are able to test. Regardless, the only changes to the '10 Expedition include standard trailer sway control and a small reshuffling of options. The evaluation would not have changed at all.

Sequoia is hideous.. it's like a (hideous) Tundra with a bed cap. The Ford looks the best and the GM's are closely behind. I've driven one of the new Expedition EL Limited's and it is a pretty awesome vehicle. It had an all black interior and navigation and all that good stuff, and like LLN says, it drives like a much smaller vehicle.

Yokon/Taho/Denalis have 320-400 HP
Expedition is overweight and underpowered
As per usual

First one to eat
Last one in the gym
I can put that on it's tombstone

Used to have the same exact vehicle as a demo @ one point. The ride and handling was pretty good. Gas mileage sucked of course(glad I didn't have to pay). It also had a lot of nice features. The engine was smooth but did not have enough grunt for me. If I'm only going to get 12 to 16 mpg i might as well have some power to go with it! The 6spd a/t was smooth in its operation but very slow to downshift when needed. Doubt it could tow 8700 lbs. and still be able to move at a decent pace. All in all, I like the Expedition and would recommend it to others looking @ this type of vehicle.
