Lightning successor: 2009 F-150 Harley Davidson spied

As far as nameplates go, it looks like “Lightning” won’t strike twice. A well-placed source at Ford has indicated we can expect a new SVT-influenced street-performance F-150 later this year, but word is this hot version of the F-150 will wear a Harley Davidson badge.

We caught a brief glimpse of this new F-150 variant out testing recently with unique, high performance wheels and bright, dual exhaust tips. What other visual changes might be in store remains a mystery as this tester got away before we could get a better look.

Speculation has this F-150 being powered by the 500 horsepower, 5.4-liter V8 found in the Mustang GT-500.

Well if the people who can afford the truck and gas buy it, they get a fast vehicle that can also tow and haul, good on them.

rotaxkar- I’m not sure if the 4X4 badge is on there just for looks or actually a 4 wheel drive model, but…

Q. What is the difference between a Harley and a vacuum cleaner?

A. The location of the dirt bag.

RotaxKart, Ford has the Baja inspired Raptor coming out, the Harley does not need to be 4X4. howsmydriving, just because you probably like Japanese crotch rockets does not mean Harley’s are junk, they are awesome machines, along with Confederate motorcycles.

I have no doubt this is going to be a really nice truck. Sure, it makes about as much sense as hiring someone with Tourettes Syndrome to call a church bingo game, but chances are if you buy one of these you’re not terribly worried about offending little old ladies either.

Hey now johnny, most people with Tourettes don’t swear. I hope the next gen keeps the optional awd the current one has.

arclight, just because someone drives a pick up truck does not make them a redneck, and leave the Saudi’s alone, they are pumping out a lot of oil, it is not their fault for the oil prices, there are market factors involved and the state of the US dollar, and China and India’s rapidly developing economies that require more oil.

Wasted RnD money. Stuff like this will keep Ford in the red.

Why don’t they focus on creating a little rocket out of Ranger redesign? How about getting that Mahindra turbo 4-cyl 300 torque engine over here to do battle?

Gas is up to $1.46 a liter, which is around $5.53 a gallon now. Who the **** can afford the 500 hp V8 in that truck?

The Camaro is for Rednecks and Mulletheads, this is kickass truck for those who want the speed but don’t want a low-slung, cramped sports car to do it. Here in the Northeast, Ford trucks are commonplace, and we can hardly call ourselves rednecks.

I always laugh when I see someone in a harley f150 truck. What is the point of this harley badge on a pickup truck? Its a motorcycle pickup? Its such a lame marketing gimmick. I guess its for fat rednecks who want a harley, but don’t know how to ride a bike.

Always hilarious hearing Kia and Honda owners who have never owned a truck discussing its value and validity.

it looks like the bed is much too small. the front of the new f150s looks pretty beefy and good. its looks as though they spent alot of time on restyling the front and go the the back and said ****it, throw a ranger bed on..
