Now, for the commenters that have no idea what the hell they’re talking about:

OutThere – There is an available in-dash navigation system available. Ford SYNC is also available. You really should go and find someone that has an 09 or newer Ford/Lincoln/Mercury and try it out; it’s arguably one of the best navigation and integration packages available (with Sync). Assuming you still don’t know what I’m talking about, Sync is the USB/Line In/Phone/Bluetooth/CD/Basically everything electronic in the car voice control system that you said doesn’t exist because Ford “can’t get it”.

Shanetrain – the vents on the hood and sides of the front quarter panel are fully functional heat extractors so that air can come from in front and below the truck and through the engine compartment to remove heat. If that’s such a grievous use of plastics maybe you should go back and buy a 30’s or 40’s roadster that has metal louvers instead. The running boards (if you think those are plastic too), are cast aluminum, coated with rubberized bed liner. This is hardly an Avalanche.

This is one badass truck. I was going to build up my 2000 F-150 but look at that it was already done for me. Yea to whoever said that jeeps are better, lemme tell you that I have a wrangler that my father and I have built up and sunk well over $,10,000 into on lifts gearing and engine mods and it wouldn’t be able to touch this truck. Whoever the ***hole is that said that this truck is for men with small penises, Your just bitter cause you have never gotten laid, and your probably to small to get into one of these beasts. And to the GM and Dodge lovers hating on truck, don’t be mad cause dodge and GM didn’t think of building such a badass truck first. And I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t void a warranty if you took it offroad on a truck designed for off roading, honestly did you think before you wrote that message? Yea I’m pretty sure there are such a thing as rally trucks, did you ever watch the Baja 1000? Oh to the ignorant f***er that thinks rednecks only drive these trucks, if you ever see one of these trucks in your rear view mirror I suggest you get the f**k out of the way.

I am ordering one as soon as I’m done with coast guard training, and in orange and black, it matches the J-Hawk I fly for the USCG

Oh please, I have been waiting for a truck like this my entire life. I would be proud to drive it across town.
1)There is nothing fashionable about a real truck. Real trucks are built for kicking ass and getting the job done.

This is just GORGEOUS!!!!!! I am a girl, and drive an H3 at the moment and have been looking at an H3T.
If my children’s car seats fit, this truck will be in my garage fully loaded:) In the flaming orange color. with the trim inside and FORD blazing on the outside. Someone had me in mind when designing this outstanding truck. When I first saw it my first thought was “this truck looks like it could eat everything” including silly cars who rear end people they cant see…….

side note a mercedes 2 door actually didn’t see my yellow hummer and rear ended me on the highway! He just drove right into the rearend of my car…..Just wait til those numbskulls try and tango with this!

Way to step up to the plate Ford!!Go go go go and more go

btw if you need navigation, you don’t need this truck lol……

Interesting…seems like someone would have thought to put to offer a navigation system for this thing??? Does that make sense if you are running around in the middle of no-where? I suppose while they were at it – they could make the leap to include Blue-Tooth integration??? My guess is most people that can afford this truck can afford a cell phone too…and sure would like to keep both hands on the wheel? I cannot figure out why Ford can’t “get it” with the technology that is out there today…when their foreign counterparts do…and as a result are passing them up on sales. If you are blowing $40K on a “just because I can”…what’s another $2K-$4K for kick-butt technology???

Mr. 02WRXPSM, there is such thing as a RALLY TRUCK and I am proof of that! I have won numerous races/championships. My truck is a FORD RANGER and I was also sponsored by a Ford dealer! There is plenty that one can say about WRX people as well! Becareful with your stones, you might need a tissue when this is all said and done.

Just this afternoon, I received a call from my local dealer asking if I would like to have a meeting about racing a FORD RAPTOR! They asked how I would build it. I gave my input and hopefully we’ll see it in 10 weeks!

shaver, there is no such thing as a “rally truck” — there are baja trucks, but not rally ones. And these are the worst enemy of a rally driver, no one wants a stupid 5,000lb lifted weekender truck tearing up a perfectly good gravel road. They can stay on the boulders and rocks, that’s fine by me, but get the hell off my forest road. And RaineMan is right, no would would spend $45k on a truck and then risk getting the emergency-cone-orange paint scratched off road, these things will get washed and waxed every third day by desk jockeys with bigger paychecks than sense.

@ DetroitWatcher: Noone buys the X5 or Cayenne for their offroading ability. The X5 and Cayenne are not advertised for their offroading ability anyways. The AWD is for when it gets wet/snowy. If you are pointing out that noone takes them offroad… noone will take the “cRaptor” offroad either. It’s an urban warrior… something that looks intimidating and takes up two parking spaces for absolutely no reason. I’d love to see some arse try to manouver one of these in the Wal-Mart parking lot or go through a drive-through window at McD’s.

So sweet! All the reviews (from C&D, R&T, MT, etc) praised how well this truck performed off-roading. The suspension supposedly makes Jeeps even look bad. 13 inches of travel? That’s impressive. I would love to rip around in the desert in a 6.2L SVT Raptor.

And to whoever said Dodge should put the 6.1L Hemi in the Ram and bring back the SRT10….the Ram SRT10 and SVT Raptor don’t compete. The Dodge is built for a road racing truck, verse the Ford which is designed for off-road.

The decals or whatever look cool. Personally, I’d opt not to have them, but for publicity’s sake and drawing attention, they work well.

Mind you I didn’t answer “yes” to any of WRXPSM’s questions in his failed attempt at humor. This is coming from a guy with an M3…..

I actually think this truck is pretty cool. Its a good value for a truck that is this loaded and comes with this type of off road hardware. If you think 40k is a lot of a full size pick up of this nature go to your local GMC/Chevy/Nissan/Ford/Toyota dealership and you will see half tons going for 35-36k that are not even that loaded

WRX- How could a rally guy not think this is cool? I dont like the tacky, uh tack ons at all, but. Some roads are perfect for a WRX, the rougher roads that will eat a WRX are ideal for desert race truck. Their will be a lot of these in the desert, remember 70 million people live near deserts in So Cal, Phx and Vegas.

I think it is great. A truck that has good off-road capabilities and is street legal with a warranty. I just hope it has a manual transmission and I hope you can turn all traction control off. It needs a sport package that removes all a/c, heat, cd/radio, stereo, and all the other crap that adds weight. So basically a lighter weight version. That would make it an amazing truck.

Having just spent the week in Daytona Beach, where I saw more lifted trucks than any other single type of vehicle there, I can there is definately a big market for trucks like this. Many of those trucks were fairly new diesel F350 or 3500 duallys, which cost about that (surpise!) $40,000. Then they had been given a lift and new tires, so paying $40,000 for a truck this capable is a bargain. If I was going to buy this, it would be black and I would pass on the decals

You know, even though trucks aren’t my thing, I like this. It’s a no-excuse real off road truck. I love the Raptor name and all the special effects on the outside. It’s maybe the most refreshing nostalgic car I’ve seen, it screams “80′a” and early 90’s when special edition trucks were all the rage. I’m not one to go off roading, but I think this has a market with those that do and with a ATV or Motorcycles in the back that you can’t do with the Wrangler and H2 SUT with it’s small rear bed.

Not knowing the future of the industry with fuel mileage standards may make a case for this truck to be collectors car too. It’s not badly priced either. Has anyone looked at what a loaded F-150 costs these days? For aftermarket parts alone to get a truck to look and be as capable aas this it would take some serious cash and time, plus you are under warrenty and can get the truck financed, unlike some aftermarket parts.
