The van coming to the US is the Transit Connect, the smaller front-wheel drive commercial unit, not the larger (Sprinter style) Transit unit.

Great we have a Simon Cowell in LLN auditioning would be future cars for the Great American Car Idiol Lol -his name I give you is Autonut.

I have a one question autonut are you a professional car designer or just very opinionated to mimic Stupid Simon Cowell in the musical prowess??!! Hmmm That’s a rhetorical question.

Anyway, I must say Ford just build the thing here in the US as is no changes except the steering wheel on the left side of the car for NA and right for Europeans who drive on the wrong side of the road lmao.

But seriously Ford you need to do two things with this car.
1.) Besides the gas version you do need a diesel version here for economy.
2.) Ford you desparately need to get a Plug-In/Totally Electric vehicle- you can’t be beaten to the punch by Toyota or GM in alternative vehicles.

* Reason being if gas prices soar beyond $6 dollars a gallon you will sell a ton of the electric version here.

Allan Mulally, I like your plan for For, but you need a Triad defense or offense for Ford.

1.) Its good you will increase HP and MPG through upcoming Eco-Boost cars
2.)Offering Hybrids and reducing vehicular weight
3.)Missing link is Electrics – where the hell are they coming from Ford? Don’t be caught napping if gas does rise above $6 a gallon like in Europe the other two won’t be enough! So start development now

Ford WILL bring this to the US. Period. Mullally is the first CEO at Ford since Nassar that has a global view of the car business. By the way…the Transit Van IS coming to the US…via built in Turkey, and it took Mullally to get it done. Jag and Land Rover are by-by-see ya. He is going to do the right thing and get the Turbo engines to the US. Diesel prices here in the US are opposite of the UK, so it will be slow to get diesel here first. Eco-boost engines are coming first, and will outsell the diesel 2-1.

I love this vehicle. I was all set to buy the new Focus when they talked about bringing the euro hatch over a couple of years back. Well, Ford messed that up and lost me as a customer! This car could easily bring me back into the fold if they keep it looking as close to the European version as possible. A diesel option would seal the deal!

I would go even further and say if Ford doesn’t sell this here they’ve just added another nail to their coffin. In fact any manufacturer who doesn’t have an offering in this class is going to risk taking a really big hit. Between the price of gas and CAFE a lot of buyers are going to be looking for this type of vehicle, perhaps even forced into this type of vehicle. The good news is this class of car is exponentially better than similar cars of the past.

I have zero faith in Ford to offer this here, but if they did, it would sell like crazy. I personally want a small inexpensive and efficient second “runabout car” for quick trips, errands, and guests and would take this over any current or upcoming offering from any manufacturer (including the Mazda 2).

Ford, catch a clue, grow some nads, and offer this here. It’s a guaranteed success.

Well Ford YOU BETTER BRING THIS ONE TO THE US. So far it’a looking much better than the sub compact that we have (Fit, Aveo and the ever ugly and horrible Yaris).
Gas price will hit $4 and this thing will sell. It also a replacement for the guys who misses their hatch back Focus – Bring it.
