
Ford launched a new Focus featuring a major exterior, interior, and technical overhaul for the 2008 model year. The car has a completely revised exterior, with more agressive styling. It also boasts a redesigned cabin with silver metallic finishing on the dashboard and center console, available ambient interior lighting, and available leather seating with contrast stitching.
The ambient lighting system has seven available colors that can be selected using a switch. They are red, blue, aqua, purple, white, green and yellow.
Suspension and chassis refinements improve ride and handling. Improved sealing and sound deadening are used to enhance audio performance and reduce road noise. Also offered is FordSync, the new Focus promises to serve as a "second home on wheels."
The 2008 Focus offers a 2.0-liter, Duratec 20 dual-overhead-cam, inline four-cylinder engine delivering an estimated 136 hp. The new engine also offers improved air intake system, cooling and exhaust system are designed to improve the smoothness, efficiency, and response of the powertrain.
The new engine also brings a variant which qualifies in states adopting California emission standards that qualifies Focus as a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle when using the Duratec 20E engine.
