To all of you people from north america! I feel sorry that you guys don't see the range of great fords made downunder! It is such a shame that you don't have the Territory (very popular here!) or Falcon over there. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH FORD IN THE U.S.???
BUT i can tell you guys that ford australia has stated it will STOP MAKING the great BARRA inline 6cyl engine in the near future! Instead it will be replaced with a V6 after that. I only hope it's a good one and the future models REMAIN REAR WHEEL drives. The way we like em!

Seating for 7, 362 hp and 405 ft-lb torque. Yeah, us Americans wouldn't want to see this over the Escape. Whats the deal with US Ford. Do they dislike sales and profits?

No shit, 1c3d0g. It kills me. If they keep putting out great vehicles for the Aussies and crap (boring, anyway) ones for us maybe Ford should just relocate to Australia.

An I-6...damned bastards. I truly do NOT understand why Ford won't sell this awesome vehicle in North America. What exactly *is* the problem, Ford?!? Hmm? Is it perhaps "too good" for us? I swear someone in Ford's management is deliberately trying to weaken Ford's market share here to ultimately bring down the company...there's just no way to justify keeping this car outside North America.

I don't understand why Ford of North America isn't doing this at the current moment.

Part of what they really need right now is a performance division. Yes, they indeed do have one, but they don't seem to use it... The Ford Focus, Ford Fusion, Ford Ranger and Ford Edge could all be better vehicles, specifically speaking the Ford Edge and Ford Focus, with a performance upgrade.

And no Ian, that sounds like a move Ford is doing =D

"Under hood lies a turbo-charged 4.0L inline six producing 362 horsepower and 405 ft-lb of torque." Doesn't that sound a little like a move BMW would do? I'm only asking

Yet another possible no brainer for FORD. This could easily be the next "Taurus X" Now if FORD would do it and make a snazzy "Bull" insignia for the Taurus line. Think a line of four door Mustangs.

A base six cylinder making around 250hp which would give way to a hybrid version that may or maybe not use capacitors instead of batteries for launch assist but could add Batteries for those slow drives through neighborhoods, parking lots, and congested highways.

A Middle unit would have a 300hp V6 and offer AWD. Hybrid boost with capacitors would be an option.

A top unit would have a 400hp V8 and AWD standard. Hybrid boost is an option. A Lincoln or Mercury version would offer batteries for all versions not just capacitors.

A very attractive car, and I don't even like crossovers.

It infuriates me the difference in quality between Ford Australia and Ford North America. They get this excellent vehicle and we get the piece of crap Taurus X with an anemic powertrain.
