Ford’s Woodhaven Stamping Plant was shut down earlier this morning after a worker was killed while on the job. Ford immediately shut down the plant after the accident so a full investigation could take place.
Although the worker’s name is being withheld by Ford and the worker’s family, it has been revealed that the man was a die-setter and was crushed while loading a transfer press.
“We express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the worker who died at Woodhaven Stamping this morning,” Ford spokeswoman Angie Kozleski told The Detroit News. “We are conducting a thorough investigation.”
Despite the accident, the plant will reopen for today’s second shift.
