Ford: no premium brands for sale

Ford said today that none of its premium brands are up for sale. “None of our premium brands are for sale. The development of premium brands is part of our competitive advantage,â€? said Ford’s Lewis Booth. He also disclosed a very strong corporate attachment to the Premier Auto Group, despite very poor results from Jaguar over the last 17 years. “We are convinced that our strategy is sound. Over the years there will be an increased contribution by PAG to the bottom line,” he said. Of the four badges in the PAG division, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Volvo were profitable.

really, does anyone understand why ford keeps jaguar? its lost billions, its offered little to no contribution to the ford product line and the new coupe is the only unproven hot car in years. you’d think the lincons would reflect on jags or something but they don’t even do that, so i ask; what is the point? anyone? im really curious why ford is keeping jag around. competitive advantage is garbage when ford bleeds cash like a zombie.
