Ford said on Wednesday that it had started offering consumers interest-free loans for six years in a effort to clear out inventories of some 2005 vehicles. American sales of most of the trucks included in the promotion fell more than 50 percent in September, compared to the same time period in 2004. Through October, the 72-month loans are offered on the Ford Expedition , Explorer, Lincoln Aviator and Mercury Mountaineer S.U.V.’s, and the Ford F-150 pickup.
