Car customizer and hip-hop DJ FunkMaster Flex is about to step into an expanded role at Ford, including working with the company’s dealers to attract a younger audience, according to Edmunds. “There’s a pretty good bet he’ll be more influential,” said Ford spokesman Jim Cain. “The fact that we invited him to lead our press conference [at SEMA] shows he has an understanding of the market that is different from a Ford employee who is used to communicating through PowerPoints.” The well-regarded customizer created a Flex Fusion for Ford that made its debut at SEMA.
