Qx 56 is a huge bad handling pi of shit. Really you have never driven one yourself. How do you base you opions when you have nothing to base it apon
I work selling cars and I have driven bolth the Navi Qx56 X5(2007) that will compete with navi and qx now and The Qx is by fare the worst. It will soon change It will be the american Cars and European Cars Kick out the Japs while we still can.

This thing beats the piss out of a Rendezvous anyday. Even the Aztek is nicer than that shitfest of design. I dont think this is half bad.. wouldnt buy one, but not bad.

This is the front end that should adorn the new Navigator as well, the Navigator’s new nose is hideous. This MKX is a nice looking vehicle.

The Zephyr (MKZ) and Milan share no sheetmetal? The roof and doors are identical, though they may have slightly different stampings and bodyside moldings.. and oh, yeah, the MKZ has that cheesy little plastic triangle behind the rear door to give the impression of a differently-shaped greenhouse. As far as the MKX and Edge go, they differ even less, and I really don’t know how they can justify a nearly $10K price bump for the Lincoln! Ford and Mercury sharing bodies is one thing, since they are priced similarly, but asking a 25% price premium for a Ford-bodied Lincoln without an exclusive engine, transmission, or even a differently-shaped plastic window molding? That’s insane.

May now be so with the Fusion, Chuckles, but with the Edge and MKX all I see is “same shit, less cash” essentially from top to bottom. I like the Lincoln dash better, but not $9k better. Actually like the Edge exterior a lot better – it’s more sporty and up-to-date.

Hey, if Ford can extract it from grandpa, more power to them. They’ve been doing it for years and GM, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and VW do it too with their upmarkets.

I personally don’t understand the inferiority complex that drive such conspicuous consumption, but there is very clearly a nice market there to be had, just not from me. I can readily afford a far far more expensive vehicle than the F150 I drive, but I don’t blow it on this shit because there are plenty of manufacturers that put out reasonably comparable performance for a reasonable price without getting yanked, and they get my business. Like I said … if the companies get it, great, but in 2 months or 5 years when that car gets resold that 9k will be worth about 50 bucks. But hey, the purchaser sure showed me how cool he/she is. My 9 grand (turned into 25k in investments in that time) and I really feel belittled.

Mark – San Diego today, but I’ll be living out of Cal by next week. I think the Zephyr is good looking, but not worth the markup for the same metal. I have seen plenty of “demographically Lincoln” buyers opt for the Mercury Milan here with the argument “same shit, less cash.” At least here and in my book too I expect that same argument would apply to the MKX and Edge.

This grille should’ve been used in the Navigator. The new one is hideous.
I don’t think it will steal sales from the RX330.
It looks too much as the Edge- this is truly badge engineering.
Toyota’s Highlander and RX330 don’t look alike, even though they use the same platform.
Ford should’ve done the same with this duo.

I would be curious to see a list of standard features. Something tells me for $34k you don’t get heated and cooled seats, a glitzy sunroof, real wood, etc…

Here nor there however; the six speed transmission is not exclusive to the MKX.

This car is packed with features. Panaraoma roof, 10 way seats for both front passengers, heated AND cooled seats, heated second row seats…

This is a great alternative to the Lexus RX350 for both power and feature content. And by undercutting the RX by at least 5 grand should bring a few buyers in.

Good job on this one Ford. If it is as durable and reliable as the RX350, there will be zero reason to spend the extra dough for the Lexus badge.

I love the Edge and would take it and quite a few grand in my pocket any day. Someone please justify the 6 to 9K markup for the Lincoln. I would think Ford would have learned my now that most folk aren’t willing to dump massive cash on a badge any more … especially the way the Zephyr ain’t flying off the lots. Thus far I have seen only one Zephyr in the road.
