"Arbiter"... No one denies the Tahoe-ness (Yukon-ness, more appropriately) of the Escalade... However, since it's first purposeful redesign of '02 it's safe to say that Cadillac has done far more to differentiate itself from its lesser siblings in both styling and power than Ford has done with the Mark LT.

To say otherwise would be... well, let's put it this way - I give you big kudos for navigating the web so efficiently despite your legal blindness.

Ford builds the best trucks in the world owned two of them just great trucks. Gave my dad my old f 150 when I got deployed that truck has over 100 on it, still runs great. Can't wait until the f 100 comes out.

c6racer take your chevy. Ford is the only truck with a fully boxed frame. There leave springs are twice the size of any chevy giving you a better ride. Also best in class payload and towing. Chevy isnt best in class in anything except for eating fords dust year after year.

ihustle, the F-150 is the best selling because most americans are morons. All they want is to look big. I'll take my Chevy/GMC over that pile any day. Dodge sucks too. Their automatic transmissions fall out at 5k miles.

'Arbiter', then that IS an engineering fault ... this is nothing new as a part in any vehicle these days ... Ford specs the part, the part gets built to that spec ... the supplier should get penalized by losing the contract and paying Ford a substantial sum for the damage to reputation.

Shit like this is unacceptable, period.

Is the Tundra even a truck? Come on get real its more like a Tonka toy. If Ford has done anything right, its been there craftsman ship in there F150. Its been the best selling truck for 31 years. Chevy and dodge have been eating dust ever since. Toyota? Toyota who, them and nissan should get an award for worst built truck on the market. Atleast ford doesnt have to bank on a gas guzzling HEMI. If your looking for a fast engine buy a Shelby. Ford offers best in class payload, best in class towing capability. Thats what a truck is about. You can hate Ford, but there truck has been consistent, and the sales dont lye.

." When all they really should have said was - "…the Mark LT, which is an F-150 with a Lincoln grille affixed to the front clip."

Not at all like an Escalade would be a Tahoe with a grille and trim....not to mention an extra 15K on the sticker. "Luxury trucks and SUVs" are ALL badge engineered, too expensive to build as a stand alone model.

And some recalls are due to vendor issues, not poor engineering. Perhaps a vendor substituted the specified hose material to "make a little more margin", it happens.

That is true, johnny. sharpie is also right, for once.
Like my auto instructors always say, "EVERY car on earth is junk. They're DESIGNED to break down so we can have a job".

While I'd personally take a Chevy/GMC or a Dodge over an F150 any day of the week... I'm still trying to figure out how a person who buys one is a loser... I mean, they're still a decent truck. Even if that was so, there must be a awful lot of losers out there.... seeing as how the F150 is the best selling (singular) model in NA... The only actual losers would be those who bought a Mark LT.

Speaking of which... I love how LLN is so diplomatic sometimes, such as when they phrase something like - "...the Mark LT, which shares the F-150's platform and mechanicals." When all they really should have said was - "...the Mark LT, which is an F-150 with a Lincoln grille affixed to the front clip."

This is quite pathetic ... how could they let something so basic fail ... it doesn't require any special engineering. This company deserves to suffer for shit like this.

Every carmaker is bound to have a recall or two (sometimes more). You can engineer everything as close to perfect as possible, but being a machine, it will break down and require maintenance and sometimes involve some design flaws. If you worry that much about recalls, you should just walk.

lol, why am I not surprised. I think Ford holds the record for most recalls. I still wonder what kind of loser actually buys a ford these days. they are using cheaper quality steel, plastics, reducing the amount of bolts and weld points all in a desperate attempt to save money by reducing costs in areas the custome won't notice untill the warranty expires, then ford can make more money selling replacement parts. Everytime I see someone in a new ford I think to myself "idiot"
