The F350 and F450 have rearends made by a company called spicer. They make Class 8 semi truck powertrains. Crazy crazy huge axle. Love the duals with the mudtires. It puts even dragsters to shame lol.

I think my IQ went down 10 points from reading these posts… There’s only going to be a handful of these things made. They won’t be on the market for each and every one of us to buy. They are specialty vehicles. That means that only a few dozen to a few hundred are made, if that many. There will be some retarded, rich city boy that will buy one to have the only one cruising Long Beach. That’s what these things are for. They don’t do real work.

axleless technology is kinda is a interesting idea…i’d actually consider it for my truck…but since its 2wheel drive, i dont think that would work.
id rather just c-notch the frame and keep the 4×4…especially with a diesel.

The F-450 is a bad joke. FWD and “full-sized anything” really should be a non-starter. The concept isn’t new though, VW has shipped them in the past to the us and do quite well now in Europe. Dodge showed us the Rampage concept. I think GM had one, but FORD never bothered…

I don’t think we’ll see either on sale in the US anytime soon… at least, I hope not.

Detroit’s problems started with making FWD cars… let’s not cede trucks by going the same lame route. It really was not part of Detroit’s automotive genetic pool and is still a bad mutation today, though better managed. My opinion, not fact.

However the slammed bed could be done with a hybrid. In-hub motors would drive the rear wheels. you might loss some of the bed width but it would work.Don’t worry about batteries, it would just be ruin from an engine operated 500-600Kw generator. This might need a very fast engine for a speed dependent generator. A mini-jet or a rotary-style engine comes to mind.

Just thinking in type again.

acura.el2000….we usually use C-notch’s on the frame to allow the axle to travel farther up within the frame….usually though the bed space is severely effected. from the looks of this, the axle is just permanently mounted damn close to the ground.
