This is a great idea. The 4 door mustang would extend its marketability. I am a huge mustang fan and always will be but its not the most practical car to own when you have a family. With this option I would still be able to represent mustang while actually fitting more then 1 other person in the car. There are so many different mustang models how could this even be that big of a deal. Its not like its going to replace the 2 door.

Before you go spiiting out useless crap, check ur stats. I would do chrysler and dodge but i have better things to do than prove you wrong.

2nd, The civic and corolla and mazda 3 are all better than the aveo, in most categories except price…. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/reviews/healey/2004-05-20-aveo_x.htm USA today does a great job explaining the Aveo.

Now for the good part. You make it seem like you want GM to be the ONLY auto maker in the US. Your views also match Hitler, Communist Russia, China, and a lot of other facist and monopolistic views. If GM was the only car maker, they could make the POS aveo cost 40K and guess what, you wouldnt have a choice to get another one….so yeah, thats a great idea…

You are blinded by your love of GM. Im not saying GM is bad, i like a lot of their cars, as well as Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Honda, Toyota.

US Automaker reliability ratings are going up now, almost even with the Asian car market, but people say that asian cars a much better, they are also blinded…

the same camaro that looks like the mustang and takes on some styling cues as the mustang?? ha. GMrules, your biased blindness is starting to get to you..stop being a one sided d*uche bag and grow up. GM isnt the only good car company in the world. Ford has good cars as does GM and so does Dodge, it all depends on different peoples views. i wanna know what you think of the Aveo and HHR…

Anyways, i think ford should build a sporty 4door and wagon that could compete with the charger/magnum, with RWD and power. I hope that it doesnt look like the mustang though, the mustang should remain an icon. I would kill to have an Australian Falcon or the Euro Mondeo. If Ford were to produce a SVT fusion/fusion wagon, i would definatly buy one. The 500 is a decent car, i wouldnt mind having one, although there are others i would get.

Thank god. A Mustang sedan just wouldn’t seem right. If a new sedan and/or wagon are built on the same platform, that’s fine; advertise that they share the same architecture as the Mustang.

What sucks about this is that the ‘attributes’ that make a Mustang would have made any subsequent models credible, even if it ‘corrupted’ the Mustang name.

If they produce a Ford Falcon, there will be no frame of reference for the general public and thus make it a more difficult sell.

And don’t give me this sacred cow malarkey; remember they are making a four door 911.

The picture of the Mustang sedan in the current (December 18, 2006) issue of AutoWeek was not placed there by some overenthusiastic teenage fan. This was a Ford design released as a trial balloon. It sank like a lead balloon and Ford wisely changed its mind.

From the views on the AutoWeek website, the design swag looks very interesting from both a sedan and coupe perspective. However, I completely agree that thinning the brand of the Mustang as a core drivers HP vehicle is not the right direction. I’d love to see some cues from that AW swag and put it in a RWD Ford (between the Fusion and the Five Hundred) and Lincoln (between the MKZ and the MKS) as a Taurus-sized competitor to the Maxima… it would be great to see a differentiating product but unclear as to how long it would take to deliver and how big the market is for that vehicle.
