Do you even know the situation Jaguar and Aston Martin were in when Ford bought them? They were on the verge of going under, and look at AM now, they are at the highest they’ve ever been in their near 100 year history. Ford may not make a killing off of Jaguar but I bet they’ll make more than what they bought them for, Jag was on the verge of closing their doors before their sale to Ford. By the way GM’s companies are not as niche as Ford’s PAG group, they’re brands are all high volume brands makin them all big players unlike the PAG group that did very little to support Ford. Volvo is much too valuable to Ford for their platforms and safety technologies and it’s not just important domestically but globally. Ford is selling these companies not only for its own good but for the good of the manufacturers because they know they can no longer provide for them what they need. Prodrive was exactly what AM needed to move on to the next level of production and hopefully Jaguar and Land Rover will get the same.

Sell, Sell, Sell!! Hurry up and get it done! Use the money to bring the European Ford lineup to the US! Jag and Land Rover never helped Ford and the money would come in handy right now. Ford needs to concentrate on Ford and not on fractional brands.

GM doesn’t have companies per se; they have brands. Even SAAB has its highest volume vehicle built on a shared GM platform. I suppose to some extent the same could be said of Jag, the S-type being built on the same platform as the Lincoln LS, but for the rest of Jag and Land Rover they have a greater degree of separation.

Do I really have to point out the idiocy of this post, or is it fairly obvious? BTW, you need to learn some spelling/grammar, it’s really an indeispensable skill if you want to be understood.

Ford gose and buy fancy european car companys and can’t even hold on to them. first with landrover who cares the escalde is better anyways. Ford can’t just buy other companys and expect there sale rate to go up it dosen’t work that way and i am sure they will sell Volvo to try and get back on there feet. I am sure that many people started hating jag and landrover because Ford bought them, It would be like if VW were to buy Ford. Now people can see why Fords sales have droped by 14% and GMs have gone up by 9% and Crysler up by 4%. I sure ass hell don’t see GM selling there companys.

I really hope for Jaguars sake that Cerberus is not remotely considered. They can’t afford both brands especially when neither chrysler nor jaguar are making a profit.

They need to stop talking about Volvo. They’ve got to understand that Volvo is very close with Ford cars, even Mazda 3. BWM, JUST GO AWAY!!! Stop bothering them!!
