i beg to differ you see more fords on the road than anything else and ford still has the best selling truck the 09 f-150 and ford has the most fuel efficiant mid-size sedan in the world with 41mpg city and maintaining over 30+mpg on the freeway and the motor doesnt engage until 47mph. and the new ecoboost motor bringing v8 power with v6 fuel economy so ford has alot to back up on. ill admit the camaro is pretty amazing and i mean there selling more than they can produce. but there late in the muscle car industry. everyone has already brought back a blast from the past then chevy came out with the camaro late. so everyone knows what to expect with a mustang, charger etc.. now everyone wants to try the new camaro. you have to remember GM is so messed up right now there not even profiting on there vehicles anymore. they may have amazing sales but there still losing money. Ford didnt even consider taking bailout money. i work for the Gosch Brothers and have a meeting with them every month and and they are saying ford right now aint losing money or making money right now were at a stand still but at least were not losing anything. and ford is also getting rid of that pesky powerstroke we have always been having problems with and now that 6.7 scorpion deisel making 700+ lb ft of torque. then were also putting a new v6 and v8 in our mustangs. the 3.7L v6 and 5.0L v8. ford has alot coming to them

Don't get your hopes up too much Mullaly. GM is coming on strong again and should have 30 percent marketshare by next year. With superior products boasting better quality, infinitely more reliable drivetrains, better customer service, better styling and a more respected nameplate, Ford is going to have a hard time maintaining thier comeback. Everyone would rather drive a General Motors vehicle than a Ford.

Buy American. Buy GM.

You fall in love with a car from the outside, and you live with your choise from the inside. I love the New Camaro exterior, and hate the interior. I love both the New Restyled Mustang's exterior and Interior. I just want the new Ecoboost V-6 for the engine. Waiting.....

Yeah JohnnyC,

I've been hard on the Mustang versus the new Camaro, but I have to admit, I really do like the new Mustang. It's one freakin' good looking car. It's not as extreme as the Camaro, which actually plays to it's advantage for me because whatever I buy is a daily driver. It's shortfalls from the past look fixed, actually, as they improved all my complaints - from the cheap feeling interior to painting the side mirrors. All that's left is the 3.7L V-6 (insurance cost says no V-8 for me) and I will be driving a Ford.

In looking at the data Ford started the year at 14.1% and has a high of 15.8 in April but back down to a mid point of 14.7 for May. So for the first 5 months they have 15.1%.

GM started January with 19.5% with a high also in April of 20.7% but in May kept near the high with 20.5% which is real surprising since they were in the middle of bankruptcy talks then. GM for the first 5 months is at 19.5%.

I pulled up behind a new bright red GT a couple days ago that was turning left; those sequential turn signals are pretty cool.

I think this is a smart move. Even if there isn't a dramatic upsurge in sales you're going to have domestic shoppers looking at Ford if only for the fact they're more likely to have what they want. I know some of the Chrysler lots are pretty bare right now and GM can't be far behind. They might have X number of days inventory but that doesn't necessarily mean they have that exact model some customers are looking for.
