Ford announced on Monday that it will be offering another round of buyouts to hourly workers at a select number of its U.S. plants. The buyouts are intended to bring the automaker’s production more in line with current demand.
The buyouts will largely target workers at Ford’s truck and SUV plants, beginning with facilities in Ohio and Kentucky on July 28th. So far this year 4,200 Ford workers have accepted buyout offers, well short of the company’s target of 8,000, according to Automotive News.
Buyouts will be offered to workers at Ford’s:
- Louisville, Kentucky plants, which produce the Ford F-series Super Duty trucks, Explorer and Mercury Moutaineer
- Wayne, Michigan plants, which make the Ford Expedition, Focus and Lincoln Navigator
- Avon Lake, Ohio plant, which makes the E-series van
- Dearborn, Michigan plant, which produces the Ford F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT
- AutoAlliance plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, which produces the Mazda6 and Ford Mustang
