You know truck sales are bad when manufacturers stop building them, if only temporarily. Yesterday we told you Ford ’s Michigan plant will close for nine weeks, and now the automaker will also close two other plants for more than the usual two weeks this summer.

In addition to the Michigan plant that assembles the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator , the company’s Kentucky pick-up truck plant will also close at an unspecified date for four weeks. That plant builds the Super Duty F-series trucks. The extended closure comes as little surprise, as Ford decided to idle its diesel engine supplier for the trucks back in May. The third plant, due to close for four weeks starting on June 23, is based in Louisville, Kentucky, and assembles the Ford Explorer and near-twin Mercury Mountaineer SUVs, according to Automotive News.

Ford traditionally closes the plants for two weeks in July for maintenance, which will be performed during the time periods mentioned.
