Ford’s Kansas City factory will suspend production of the Mazda Tribute beginning in May, according to Bloomberg. The plant will reportedly continue to build the Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner without interruption. According to a Ford spokesperson, there will be no Mazda Tribute for the 2007 model year as a result of the decision. For the 2008 model year, the plant is expected to build all-new versions of the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, and Mazda Tribute. Mazda declined to comment on why there would be no 2007 model for the Tribute.

The CX-7 kinda makes the Tribute redundant and completely outdated. I’m glad it’s discontinued, even if only temporarily.
