The Indianapolis-based International Truck and Engine Corp. plant that supplies diesel engines for Ford ’s F-250, F-350 and F-450 and Super Duty truck will temporarily close, due to the automaker scaling back production of the full-size trucks. Yesterday, Ford announced even more cuts, though those did not have any bearing on the engine supplier’s closure, which starts today.

The supplier was already due to close for maintenance in the first two weeks of July, according to company spokesperson Roy Wiley in an Automotive News report. While it’s not known if the supplier will take the time to perform the maintenance now and remain open in July, it is doubtful, as the decision would be a last-minute one. The plant supplies Ford ’s Louisville, Kentucky truck plant, which builds the F-series pickup trucks.
