When Ford first unveiled the 2007 Lincoln Navigator, there was a mixed reaction to the automaker’s rather liberal use of chrome highlights. Many observers — including a number of Leftlane readers — were not too impressed by the massive chrome strip above the grille. Now, it looks like Ford may be reconsidering that particular design element. The 2007 Lincoln Navigator online “pre-design” configurator now shows the truck sans chrome strip. While no high-resolution images are available, it’s clear buyers will at least have the option of deleting the extra chrome. The new Navigator won’t begin shipping until later this year.
