Fatburger is all good. That and Whataburger are the only ones of the west coast burder places to make it to Florida I believe. Oh, and wouldn’t it be funny if Ford made those inflatable seatbelts to pop out a blow up doll when you crash! Cops arrive on scene and bust you for lewd and lascivious behavior in public!

Now I do think that Whataburger is pretty nasty. It’s almost as bad as the A&W that is down the street from me. Sorry, Whataburger fans, I just don’t like their burgers. And A&W fans, their burgers have gone way downhill. Their cheese curds are really good, though.

anyways. I love In-n-out. my favorite burger joint. But I live in Dallas Texas, so we dont have them. But the best in Dallas (fast food) is Steak n Shake, and Whataburger. mmmm tastey

the Lexus LF-A has a similar design called the seat belt air bag system, which I think is suited for the car cause the driver is going to want all the safety he can get in that missile.

CarResearcher, I’m not “from” Utah, but I did live there for some years. I’m actually born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, with a few years living in other places here and there. I find Crown Burger to be pretty tasty, but they do take forever. That’s my complaint with them. Although it has been at least 7 years since I’ve had one, so they may have gone downhill.

Eff1Fifty, I get razzed all the time. I’m used to it.

I’m a single cheese with everything and grilled onions kind of guy. I really dig the fresh tomatoes and lettuce at In-N-Out. And I have to have my fries with a side of spread. Animal fries are good, but only when I’m in the mood. Rootbeer, no shake, unless I’m in the mood to dip my fries into my shake (sounds kinky )

NMOFGM didn’t GM get something recalled a few days ago on the Cobalt, something on the HHR, the transmission and rear taillights on the new Camaro, and has 1.5 million general recalls? And didn’t the tests come in stating Ford is on par with the Japanese companies and is leading the domestic market in quality? Get over yourself your company isn’t as good as your loudmouth says.

0-60 I don’t know what it is, but I can’t get my food down with a shake… I got a buddy who does it everytime tho. I’m a double double raw onions 2 fries kinda guy, altho depending on the mood its a 3×3 raw and grilled onions (1 fry, I don’t wanna look fat)

Eff1Fifty, I love In-N-Out. I’m in Las Vegas. We have In-N-Outs everywhere. But I was trying to illustrate my point with a burger stand that isn’t quite so busy. The point was that even though everyone eats at McDonalds, and they sell a lot of burgers, there are much better burgers out there.

Here are some of my favorites:
In-N-Out
Fatburger
Jack in the Box
Uncle Joe’s (little hole in the wall near my work)
Hennessey
Tommy’s (without the chili)
Crownburger (Salt Lake City)
White Spot (Vancouver, BC)
Arctic Circle (nostalgia, mostly, but decent burgers)
And there are others, too.

I also make my own really good burgers, probably better than anything on the list. But homemade food is always better.

OK, so fordman and nmofgm are both idiots. Let’s see what our tax dollars can do for GM once again. No creatitivity from GM or from their faithful few (both of you—or are you the same person??) Ford has shown that it is comitted to safety and technology. I really don’t want to see the demise of GM but they have to change leadership–they must get rid of all of the old regime–that means you too Bob Lutz. They need to change a culture and that takes time, more time than they may have left unfortunately.

Until last year GM was number 1 in the world for 76 years in a row so someone has been buying there cars. So incentives are not people are still buying them.

This is so smart for Ford, especially to introduce it with the new Explorer next fall. Now, when family’s who want an SUV/CUV and compare Gov’t Motors to Ford’s Explorer, this could be a big deciding factor for Safety, especially when “mom’s” make most of the buying decisions and want as much safety in the vehicle for their kids as possible… Go Ford!

0-60: “… GM is up more than Ford” = Fleet sales at deep discounts, look at car rental lots, they are full of Impala’s, Malibus and Cobalts, plus Gov’t Motors incentives were at least $1,500 above Fords on avg. per vehicle and Ford made money and had positive cash flow…

that actually a good idea could help a lot in ribcage injuries, spreading out the force over 5x the area of your body is significant.
if only they could inflate on the other side of the belt without causing more harm, could increase area and also cause the force to be spread out over a longer time.

Altho I will totally give GM props for OnStar, its pretty cool

ANYWAYS. Ford sourced a lot of its safety tech from Volvo in the past, who knows, maybe this came from one of their brainstorming sessions 10 yrs ago.

its a step in the right direction, only way to learn will be trial and error. And it will take several years and several different car maker’s versions to perfect this safety tool, not unlike the airbags we see today (which are still being perfected)… hell, somebody came up with the first seatbelt, the first air bag, the first crumple zone, the first application of ABS… but it took years of improvements and tests and trials

Can’t wait to see what other new tech may spawn from this (from ALL auto makers)

It was actually Bill Ford who pushed this through and didn’t cancel this project. An interesting fact of his tenure as Ford CEO is that he didn’t want to cut any innovative projects – something he should be comended on. He still wasn’t a great CEO, but he did do somethings that were right.

Volvo will have it too Zesty – but even though Volvo is owned by Ford, Ford developed it here and they want to market it with Ford first before Volvo gets it. A smart marketing move Ford, touche on making it affordable too not like the Lexus only having it in the LFA.
