Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The Mustang did so well that loser Dodge and Chevy decided to bring out their old retro vehicles. Sad. The Camaro dies due to lack of attention, only to come back due to Ford’s success.

That reminds me of something funny.

I’ve noticed that the Coke here in the U.S. is not very good. It’s better than the “New Coke” that they tried to pawn off on us, but it’s not as good as the Coke that you get in other countries, like México. I started to research why, and I found out…

In the U.S., sugar is a bad thing. People don’t like when something has sugar. But in México, no one cares.

Here, Coke wasn’t selling like it used to. So Coke needed to get their sugar content down, and use something different. Diet Coke wasn’t cutting it for them. So what did they do? They developed “New Coke,” only it was nasty! It tasted like someone mixed Diet Coke with talc. And then they had the Coke test, with new Coke vs. old Coke. No one liked New Coke, but Coke tricked us…

Instead of keeping the classic taste of sugary Coke, they changed the formula. We all tried the New Coke, were grossed out, and went back to what we thought was the old stuff – Coca Cola Classic. But it wasn’t the old stuff. It was a different recipe. We liked it, though, because the New Coke was gross. We didn’t even realize that the Classic was not the same. Mean, evil, horrible Coca Cola Company!

And now, the Coke that you drink is not even as tasty as the Coke you can get in other countries. They pulled the wool over our eyes.

I like the new Pony, though…

The mustang in its base form was never about all-out performance. Heck… even with the V8 the cars are wussy in stock form. Mustang is all about image.

It looks nice. I hope the restyled car turns out as good.

Ford did take some missteps with this car, but they have done a good job at returning it to icon status. An IRS would be nice, but I guess you can’t have everything.

“40 year heritage” — yeah, there’s about 25 to 30 years of that 40-year stretch that Mustang owners/fans should be SERIOUSLY embarrassed about (160hp V6, anyone?) and would be better off forgotten. If that logo was made in Mexico and made of chrome-painted plastic, it would be more appropriate. Oh, and weld the hind legs together, you wouldn’t want that horsey to have an independent rear suspension

but its not like they can just completely scrap the symbol and make another. kinda ruins the point of the 40 yr old heritage behind it.
