This looks sweet for a small car but according to what I’ve read on another site it’s for Europe not the US. The US will probably get something that doesn’t look half as good.

By the time this reaches production its going to look pretty plain amongst the SEAT Leons and FIAT Grande Puntos that it bears so much resemblance to.

I agree with a lot of you; the grille is a little overdone. But otherwise, I like this a lot. I see a bit of Mercedes in the rear end. If they build this for the States, they really need to keep the chrome trim around the windows; it makes it look much more “upscale”. And the wild colors on the seats and door trim in the interior probably isn’t feasable for production, but otherwise, I like the look of the interior. I think I can even see that purple on the dash making it—though you’d have to be careful what exterior color you paired it with.

A few days ago, I commented on the article about the Kia Proceed concept car that Ford should just pay Kia for that design and call it the next Focus. This one is an in-house design, that would work just fine also.

Ford has been talking about “Bold Moves” for several months now, but all I’ve seen since that campaign began is big, gas-sucking hogs—-hardly “bold moves”, considering Ford’s past. THIS would be a bold move, if they were to produce it—largely unchanged—from this concept. So go ahead Ford—build something small that we Americans (remember us?) can get excited about!

The posts on this article confirm that most of us are frustrated with great concepts turning out to be lame. We are also tired of the rediculously cheap plastic gray interiors – I rented a Focus last week, and that’s exactly what it was. It will be a broken down, rattling piece of **** soon. Why is it that we all see this, but Ford management remains so clueless? Let’s hope that they soon wake up and earn their fat paychecks (and that would include building this car – as shown!).

Ford is about one of the only automanufacturers that I know that don’t water down their bread and butter cars from concepts… look at Taurus illustrations, Explorer conceptions and other such concepts. The Ford Fusion resembles the Ford 427 concept in many ways, but one of the reasons it looks more conventional is the market that it’s in.

I don’t like the choice of colors in the interior, but I understand it’s supposed to be dramatic, like the rest of the car. I gotta say, what an awesome interior! This car just keeps on suprising me left and right. Ford needs to make the plastic parts on the dashboard have smaller edges, but it doesn’t look cheap at all. I’m suprised at the interior lighting though, reminds me of a sci-fi movie.

A few too many buttons for me though, and the interior is what’s going to be toned down from the concept. It’ll still contain the just of the concept though, and I’m loving what I see right now!

What’s wrong with me? I hate most Fords but for some reason I like this CONCEPT. Like most cars, I’m sure Ford will destroy the concept’s design appeal by the time it goes into production.

now if only concept & design actually make it to production. I understand there are safety regulations to meet – but why so many cars start out looking tight and then a big fat turd in production. Make the cars look like the concept as much as possible and watch sales sky rocket. bring it over!

Love it, as it sits now its a very nice small car. Something we dont see here in the states. If only these manus would get in their heads that more ppl would buy smaller cars if they made them NICE, and not cheap ass hard plastic through out, with no design flare.

I would love to see a Fiesta XR2 or RS equivalent, but it would probably be the Fiesta ST again like the current one..but then again they want to stop that now too… Grr…

This is a great looking car. Fairly ballsy design coming out of Ford (USA), but it’s actually on par with typical European Fords. (Which is why I’m also confident the production version will look very close to this) Glad this is coming to the US. Ford needs something in this segment, with all the Yaris, Fit, Versa, etc.

Not sure I’m enjoying the upper/lower grille transplant from the previous-generation Sebring.. but this is a nice adaptation of the Mazda2 and looks like it fills the niche left by the Focus hatchbacks in the US market. I think they should keep the “Verve” name, at least for the US!

This is a cool looking car. Ford needs to bring the to the market right now and sell it in the United States. The Mondeo should come first however. Ford Europe is so much better than Ford USA.
