All FACTS, stupid monkey ... I post QUALITY and FACT ... you, on the other hand, post illiterate, incoherent, worthless, regurgitated, grade three shit ... literally, SHIT. Read your last post ... the entire post is a feminine, weak, pussified, incorrect lie (except for the filthy mouth) when we all know the truth ... you are worthless and I am your superior.

Oh, have you learned the difference between 'then' and 'than' yet, fucking waste of a life? Kill yourself, chimp.

Swearing is the cherry on the top of my FACTS, worthless illiterate. Good comeback though for a primary school chimp ... empty of any worthwhile information and dancing around the issue. Still studying to pass grade three reading comprehension, primate? Stick to the issue at hand ... he was discussing one thing, you another ... fucking neanderthal retard.

Truly, this thread was one hell of an example of how big of a fucking write-off you really are. You're dumber than any monkey at any zoo.

Yeah, Impulsive, I am the foolish one with my swearing, know nothing comments and such, oh wait, that is you. Turbocharging has come along way lately and can handle towing, you would know that if you read anything beside LLN.

Turbo diesel, yes -- because they generate torque at 1,000 rpm. Turbo gasoline engine, no; even with fancy variable-intake turbos, they still don't make torque until 2200-2500 RPM, and no decent torque until full boost. Having to gun your truck to 3500 rpm to pull your boat out of the water won't impress the good ol' boys down by the lake.

People will hands down take a small 4 cylinder or small 6 cylinder over a diesel in a product like this. The diesel wouldn't sell. People who buy a product like this would hate life with $5.50 per gallon diesel like in California. It would be a waste of Ford's resources and money to consider a diesel in these trucks.

LOL, a gas-powered turbocharged truck -- man, if that is not a sign of the times, I don't know what is. For those of you not fortunate enough to experience forced induction, let me clue you in -- turbo and towing do NOT get along :-)

I was just thinking the other day what a big mistake it would be for Ford to dump the Ranger now, with gas prices going through the roof. I figured they would just reskin it and run it another ten years or so, but kudos to Ford for planning to merge development with the Thai Ranger replacement, which I think should have been available here from the start.

As gas hits $5 a gallon, people will be turning away from Rams, Tundras and Tacomas in droves.. and the only true small alternatives are available at GM and Ford! Now if only the two companies had a credible small-car strategy in place, there would be no problem for them to meet CAFE standards.

what's the Ford that'd pictured in the thumbnail? a next gen Ranger/F100 or is it the T6 they mentioned? & i, too, agree the diesel engine should be an option at least.

I said diesel versions please, as in I am asking for one. Ford is using a Land Rover diesel as the basis for the 4.4 liter diesel, they can use their European Duratorq as a basis for American diesels.

Guys, diesel is a product of your imagination. Article did not say that Ford is planning to have one. And it probably doesn't. I agree with you that diesel in a truck is a useful thing, but I doubt that Ford is capable of certifying one for US consumption.

Yep, 4cyl diesel, 6sp manual, please, and around 20k too. Small pickups don't have to do 6 sec 0-60. I have an old Chevy LUV that needs replacing. It's got 76hp (well, with 180k miles probably more like 60hp!) and a 4sp, and it gets around just fine with 25mpg. Let it haul 600lb, and tow 2000lb, so it can be light, and efficient for light-haul fleets too, like phone companies, pool guys, landscapers, etc.

For the F-100, same thing, just better capacities. If people want fancy, let them eat F150 cake, and make them pay for it.

Great news, I want to see what Ford has to really offer in the compact market. I bet you guys anything the F-100 will be placed around the Dakota's size and the Ranger will stay compact and grow slightly.
