Ford Bronco to return without two-door configuration?

An unnamed Ford engineer says the Bronco will look like a four-door version of Ford\'s Brazilian Troller T4.

Ford has reportedly struggled to settle on a final design for the resurrected Bronco.

The project was sent back to the drawing board twice already, rejecting one proposal "because they feel it looks too much like a Wrangler," an unnamed engineer told Gear Patrol.

The insider claims the company has settled on a design that looks like a four-door version of the Troller T4, an already off-roader built by Ford's Brazilian division.

Purists may view the Troller as closer to the original Bronco if the engineer is accurate in claiming a two-door configuration has been ruled out for the modern US-market model.

The company is said to be using the Wrangler as a benchmark vehicle. The Ranger's platform is not expected to offer the same rock-crawling capabilities, however.

The unofficial report further claims the new Bronco will borrow Ford's 325-horsepower 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. A hybrid version is said to be under consideration.

Additional official details will presumably begin to surface in the not-too-distant future as the project inches closer to its 2020 launch date.
