Ford announced on Tuesday it has upped the ante on its Ford Advantage Plan, adding a new charitable spin that will benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. Ford has teamed with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation several times over the last few years, raising more than $100 million for the fight against breast cancer.
For their latest partnership, Ford has pledged to donate $20, up to $1 million, to the Susan G. Komen for Cure for every potential customer that test drives a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle through June 1st. Additionally, those participating in a Susan G. Komen for the Cure event through June 1st can sign up on Ford’s website to have $20 donated in their name.
“This program will go a long way in helping Komen directly serve women and men in hundreds of communities across the country with education, screening and treatment programs that address breast cancer issues close to home.” – Hala Moddelmog, President and CEO, Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The event will run alongside the Ford Advantage Plan, which guarantees12 months of vehicle payments on any Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle up to $700, should the customer lose his/her job.

Test drives for $20 donation really does give another reason to go see some new cars. Easy and brilliant! If only ALL of the car companies would do things like this, the car business would be in good shape right now. Half of the battle in the car business is getting customers on the lot…let alone to drive a car, then commit to buy one. But to get people out of their house for charity and the smell of new leather..brilliant!! Hummmm, leather…..

Want to really get people out to look at cars? Give the $20 to the local school board.
