Alan Mulally, chief executive officer at Ford Motor Company, told journalists that the automaker is on track to reach sustained profitability in 2009. Mulally spoke to journalists at a Management Briefing Seminar in Traverse City, Mich., today.
“We’re on our plan for 2008 [to] return to profitability in 2009,” Mulally told Automotive News.
Ford managed to achieve a profit in the second quarter of this year, but analysts suggest that the automaker won’t be profitable over the entire year. It appears that Mulally expects 2009 to be a profitable year overall.
