In order to help satisfy his seemingly insatiable appetite for horsepower, 2010 Formula Drift series champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. turned to NASCAR's Roush Yates team to build his all-new 2013 Ford Mustang RTR race car engine.

The result? An absolutely ridiculous naturally-aspirated 6.7-liter V8 that cranks out a very NASCAR-like 845 horsepower and 623 lb-ft of torque. And wrapped about that screamer of an engine? An all-new livery scheme that pays homage to both the original Monster and the special lo-carb version with blue accents in the styling.

Full specs: 2013 Ford Mustang RTR with a Ford Racing/Rouch Yates 6.7-liter V8, K&N air filter, as well as oil and breather filters, an exedy twin plate and Falken Azenis 255/40R18s in the front and 295/40/R18s out back. With 845 horsepower and 623 lb-ft of torque, this is the most powerful car yet to feature Vaughn Gittin Jr. behind the wheel.

The car is prepared by a team of mechanics, many of whom previously worked in NASCAR, at Autosport Dynamics out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

After a bit of a disappointing season in Formula Drift for 2011, Gittin returns to the streets of Long Beach, California, this Saturday to kick off the season. Long Beach was the first track that Gittin debuted his Monster-sponsored car in 2010, ultimately kicking the season off with a first place finish, only later to stump Gittin as he failed to make the top 10 in 2011.

If you can't make it to the event live this Saturday, be sure to catch the action live and online at formuladrift.com/live beginning at 10:00AM PST today (Friday) for qualifying.
