Following his departure from General Motors last week, former Opel head Carl-Peter Forster has reportedly landed a job as head of British operations for India’s Tata Motors. The new role will put Forster in charge of Tata-owned Jaguar and Land Rover .
Forster resigned as Opel’s CEO after General Motors failed to sell the ailing German brand to Canada’s Magna International but, according to the Times Online, the 55 year old executive won’t be without work for long. Tata Motors has reportedly signed Forster to head up its UK-based Jaguar and Land Rover operations.

Forster is no stranger to the Land Rover brand as he worked for BMW in the 1990s during the German automaker’s ownership of the luxury off-road brand. Forster also has close ties with England as he was born and raised in London.

Tata Motors has yet to confirm Forster’s new position but Forster is expected to take his place as head of British operation within the next few months. Jaguar Land Rover employs about 15,000 people.
