Four custom Ford F-150s hit the Vegas strip

11/04/2008, 9:26 PM

By Drew Johnson

The SEMA Show in Las Vegas is upon us, which means plenty of one-off customs. Ford’s all-new F-150 will be present at the Vegas show, with four customized concepts planned to show off the F-150’s new duds.

First up is the Ford F-150 Heavy Duty DEWALT Contractor. As one can infer from the truck’s name, the DEWALT Contractor was co-developed with DEWALT, and sports plenty of features for the job site. Ford’s Work Solutions system is part of the package – which features and in-bed inventory system as well as a few other neat gadgets – as is a unique on-board tool charging system.

The workman’s truck does feature powertrain mods, but Ford is keeping mum on the details until the SEMA Show.

For those with a hard-core outdoor lifestyle, Ford has created the F-150 FX-4 by X-Treme Toyz. Dubbed ‘Fahrenheit F-150’, the rig is highlighted by a luxurious interior which is wrapped around a rugged exterior, which include a front-mounted winch hidden behind the license plate.

Street Scene Equipment will be taking care of the SEMA-obligatory F-150 street custom.

The last custom F-150 is a greener version of the pickup truck, which is powered by Hi-Pa Drive. The system places electric motors in all four wheels, generating 600 combined horsepower.

Since it is family friendly and politically astute site I shall not comment whom those trucks (more likely drivers) meet on streets of fun loving Vegas. Perhaps this look is apropos

I have never been a Ford guy (unless we’re talking 60’s era Mustangs), but I’ll take the DEWALT Contractor in a heartbeat.

Ktulu, I hope you like your car. Because under Obama’s plan, you need to let me drive it, too.
