The cover of the latest issue of Germany’s Autobild magazine features an illustration of a new Ferrari Dino sports cars. The original Dino, produced from 1968 to 1976, was a relatively low-cost mid-engined two-seater.
In recent years, there have been rumors about a new entry-level Ferrari bearing the Dino nameplate. But in February of this year, Ferrari Deputy Managing Director Amedo Felisa said the idea had been shelved. In April, Ferrari CEO Luca Cordero di Montezemolo also denied plans for a new, cheaper model.
But Autobild‘s latest issue seems to indicate there’s still a strong possibility of such a car. While we haven’t yet seen the magazine’s full report, we imagine the Dino is still on the drawing board, and won’t be seen for several years. In August, Automotive News said a new V8 coupe and hardtop convertible would come from Ferrari positioned below the F430. The report said the car would seat four and arrive in 2008.
