Gas prices continue to inch up

03/21/2006, 5:05 PM

By admin

Gas prices in the U.S. rose 15 cents per gallon over the past week, according to Automotive News. The average price for a gallon of gas went from $2.36 last week to $2.51 this week. There are increasing concerns that the price of gas could return to record levels if the confrontation between the U.S. and Iran worsens. GM’s Bob Lutz recently said that if oil prices reach $100 per barrel, it would “basically bring the industry to a halt.â€? (In the same interview, Lutz also said he thinks ethanol could be the answer. “We think running the nation on E85 makes more sense than all the hybrids in the world.”)

Duh?! It didn’t take a 74yr old to figger $100-a-barrel would kill the Suburban. Dumb s___ts just spent a ton on $$ to refurb their big SUVs when they could read the papers like the rest of us?!

Then they tell us corn is our salvation. B_ll Sh_t. The only people who make out with E85 are the new Towellheads at Archer Daniels Midland and the farm state senators who truck cash from Washington to farmers on the federal take.

Wow, 15 cents in one week. That’s tuff. We have only gone up 12 cents in the last week. Of course, up here, that would be per litre which converts to approx 48 cents per gallon.
