A spokesperson for Russian automaker GAZ, run by billionaire tycoon Oleg Deripaska, announced today that GAZ is not interested in buying Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford . Over the weekend, a German publication reported that a credible source at Ford had said GAZ was interested in buying the two British brands.
Reuters’ United Kingdom bureau is reporting that only four major players remain interested in buying Jaguar and Land Rover: Indian carmakers Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata, and investment buyout firms TPG and Ripplewood.
