NO we were not. radicals declared war on us long ago. what does us being in iraq have to do with the anti-american hate that’s been OPENLY brewing in the middle east for decades? you blame it on america (and unwittingly the democracy that lets you speak out like this), i blame it on communist thinking (e.g. welfare is an entitlement and ‘the government sent jobs over seas’) and a religion that does nothing to purge itself of those who SLAUGHTER in their namesake. i blame it on the american ’sheep’ that don’t want to see outside of their own comfort bubble and recognize that america is the land of the free because of generations of SACRIFICE. not because of lazy hippy-offspring that don’t understand the consequences of not dealing with a people that praise the sawing-off of a living man’s head for ‘god’. or that send out bomb-laden women and children to cause massive carnage in the midst of a bunch of innocents. how your conscience can over look these FACTS i don’t know. now go visit cindysheehan.org to know what to make of all this.

Thank you all for your comments, I was wondering if anyone was going to recognize the spelling, glad their is someone inteligent enough to point that out. As far as gas prices go. No, I don’t think the president sets them, you must think I am as retarded as you are. I was just pointing out a fact that no-one else notices. I’m just asking for a little common sense out of facts. LOOK THEM UP, at any public liberary. Then ask yourself. Would any of this happen if someone else were in office. deantj, did make a good point about greed and the american public.

This would probably make the car industry in the US even worse. If they joined up, i bet there will be so many similarities between so many cars. just like the Lincoln, Mercury and Ford do right now. I don’t see any point in this anyway why would you join together 2 big troubled car giants and make the problem even harder to handle. Maybe im completely wrong but thats how i see it.

mujician: you (and others on here) are so clueless. you probably think the president sets gas prices too. you clearly have no idea how business nor government works so you are little qualified to speak about either. of course it’s within your rights to do so but do you have any clue how uneducated you sound? outside of the anti-american hate speech that you’ve religiously agreed to preach, you offer little more than unbridled emotion. i recommend a little less cindy shehan/michael moore and a little more independent fact finding.
i wonder how many people on here believe the government is responsible for or should be responsible for building cars? can you say communist?

whatever it takes to win. Once back on top they can start competing with each other again. We want America to change more jobs here they we better start buying American. If you think about it if we never bought anything that was being made outside of the usa. It wouldnt have been cost effective. They would have lost money. Now we wont pay to keep jobs here. THen we have stores like WalMart killing off the little guy putting bussines out, unless they produce outside of the usa were it has cheeper labor cost. Its really are own dame falt. If they can get ther act togather I will start to buy American Again.

The government isn’t helping them because the government doesn’t know how to build a good car. And that’s what it’s about… cars, not business. Build better cars and people will buy them. The American companies are slowly figuring that out.

Alliance, guys, not merger. They already worked together on the new 6-speed, why not do it with engines? Obviously the government isn’t helping them fight imports, so maybe they’ll have to do it themselves, together.

Ford delays the Edge for 2 weeks and gets flack, while Toyota delays the Corolla an entire year and you don’t hear anything bad said. People seem to forget that nice little car called the Fusion that’s beating up the Japanese in the quality ratings. You think Ford may be aiming to do that with the Edge? 2 weeks is worth the wait.
