Big Oil thanks Gm for their Hummer line of gas guzzlers. Without them and the 12 other GMT900 SUV’s my stock has never looked so good. Thank you GM for concentrating on gas guzzlers for us rich folks

I love the spin… When the sales were down in June 06, nobody would acknowledge that it was due to June 05 being a record month, but now that they’re up, it’s because the inventories were low in August of 05 due to the great months of June and July.

CarGuy and ss, Hurricane Katrina was not only a confined to the Gulf Coast; it occurred on August 29. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that GM also sold cars in August 2005 between the 1st and the 28th. That big rush on the 29th, 30th, and 31st were important, but not THAT important.

the hummer H2 isnt based of the tahoe, its based off the chevy 1500 truck frame with a different middle section.

I am glad that GM is doing better, regardless of whether last year had isolated events.

The new cars are driving the turnaround and that’s the real news. People are considering their new offerings and that’s what matters.

As to the H3 controversy, I think it’s safe to say taht every car maker wishes they had a success like the H3- regardless of what it’s based on.

h3 is a fake hummer. just like its bigger brother the h2, its just a pretty tahoe. and they killed the “real” hummer, the h1. if ya want a REAL off roader, get a land rover. but if ya dont got deep pockets, get a jeep. but whatever ya do, dont be like all the other posers/rappers and get a hummer.

If this were toyota it would be headline news but lets not forget that in america when an american company does well its modest or because they offered so many incentives give me a break the auto industry is sick not everyone wants to drive boring, bland toyotas and hondas, sorry. (Lets put it in headlines how many recalls toyota has had this year and make excuses for them as to why it happened)

Come on guys.. if Toyota (or any other foreign automaker) were up 8% you’d be going nuts. “Toyota up an astounding 8%!” Yet, because it’s GM (Ford or Chrysler) it’s, “modest”, “slight” or “tiny.”

yep, H3 is the colorado frame, but the suspension is heavily modified. With the 5 cyl putting out good numbers with the new upgrades for ’07, the only thing bad about the h3 is the name.

It is still a 5 cylinder in a over two ton vehicle that shares at least the basis of its platform with the Colorado… Don’t tell any of the owners that though. I actually had a co-worker lose a Land Rover sale because the guy had a H3 and he mentioned how it was based some what on the Colorado. He got so upset that he left the building and would not return any phone calls. Silly Hummer owners all of your vehicles except for the H1 are based on something else they are not unique.

The H3 has a number of problems, and the Hummer sales are still up…this surprises me. Anyhow, good for GM. I hope they can keep this momentum.

Wow didn’t expect that. I can’t belive Hummer actually saw a gain even if it was all from the H3. I actually have not driven an H3 although I have been in one and poked around under it. Can someone tell me why anyone would buy one? The only thing they seem to have going for them is a fantasitc crawl ratio if you get the optional off-road package.

Lucerne outselling G6? Pontiac down 12% maybe it is Pontiac should be going not Buick. Good for GM that Sales are up. I hope not on the back of giveaway incentives. Myself I’ll wait for the next Malibu, next CTS and Acadia Enclave Outlook and AUra before considering a GM product.
I long for a GM product that moves me the way a 63 Riviera or a 67 Eldorado or 66 Toronado or 59 through 66 Impalas do still
