My friends, with your help and with the help of our friends at General Motors, we as Americans, most notably those who have stake in our crude oil stocks are able to thrive and prosper in the moments of dispair across the world. It is your duty as Americans to enjoy the fruits of our labor, to sample one of just 12 different full size, truck based SUV’s from GM. For those more endowed, may we suggest Hummer, for those elite individuals who choose more enriched means of living and thriving off this great planet Earth.

Understand this folks, it is not planet Earth that will pay the bills, do your work, provide for your families, make you satisfied, no. It is a resource, a tool in which we use to survive, not a thing of great importance, not a being of high value. Use it, embrace it and ignore those false consequences. This Earth owes us nothing, it is ripe for the taking so enjoy my friends, drink up for the sake of happiness and gluttony. Please keep us in mind during your journey. wow, lotsa flamboyancy over here as usual…. The H1 is/was obviously an excellent off-roader. The same cannot be said for its hyped-up siblings. I’ve driven an H2 back-to back with a Toyota FJ and a Wrangler, and the H2 came dead last in my book. I’ve never driven the H3, but the reviews seem alright, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

True, anybody can do what they want with their money, and also should not be discouraged to do so, regardless of what the purpose of their purchase was. You don’t have to enter the WRC if you own an STi, but a couple of track days will make you happier person. Same goes for the irritated child in his pavement trotting Wrangler. Anyway, i don’t see how this topic turned into yet another pro/anti-americana discussion, but im also getting sick of the over-defendant and sensitive types who tend two explode in both common and creative expletives and litter automotive forums throughout the web. Anybody know of an engineer’s only forum btw?

i totally agree with the others on here that say this is a good idea – competition is what drives innovation. and hummer vehicles have so far met or surpassed hummer’s offroad claims and journalist’s expectations (whether owners exercise that ability or not).
also, notice that the anti-american posts on here never include facts or figures but just plain anti-american hate speech (it’s getting so old). these vicious people truly believe that they are the champions of freedom and tolerance but fail to see that they have nor practice either. they have no idea how controlled their thoughts are. you cannot communicate with people like that because they are so indoctrinated with propaganda that they are unable to discern fact from fiction therefore even right from wrong.
So to all of you blindly intolerant anti-american hypocritical posters on here just keep on spewing the hate speech as you’ve been instructed to do while the free-thinkers (the rest of us) evaluate products based on factual information.

Most of you guys are competely clueless, both Hummers are very good off-roaders, especially the H3. For a bunch of car guys you sure don’t seam to read much. Every test I have ever read has gushed over the excellent off-road ability of the H3, one of the best in the industry. If you guys don’t know what you are talking about, please don’t comment!

woah….I just wanted to add that my awesome jeep compass got high centered on a cat turd. wtf i thought jeeps were the best thing since sliced bread.

really though, now jeep won’t have the wrangler market to themselves… they might have to innovate a little instead of using the same design for 50yrs.

As far as factory 4×4’s go hummers have little competiton. Range Rover… what’s the departure angle on one of those 5 deg?

Just what the world needs… more Land Rovers…LOL!

Ford offroading company: Land Rover = Good
GM offroading company: Hummer = Bad
Both = bad gas mileage, yuppie buyers, rarely leave the pavement.

If I wanted to go offroading, i’d stick to the only 3 brands that have it down, without any cross-platform compromises, Jeep (Wrangler/TJ only) Toyota (Landcruiser, FJ cruiser and the 4-runner) and Land Rover (any, but most especially the Defender). These cars are all true offroaders, not converted Suburbans, Durangos and other such compromised load-haulers.

A Hummer Wrangler weighing 3 tonnes lol Why would anyone want a hummer that has all the mod con (like electric seats etc) to take off road. The point of the wrangler is its not to expensive and made to handle all the rough and tough.

Plus the Hummer name stands for **** now that the Hummer H1 has been axed. All you have now is some lame chevys with different badges. Personally I would just rather buy the chevy and save the money.
