There is no reason for some loser like Nissan should be riding on the shoulders of General Motors. GM is here because they belong here, they are American. Nissan has no right to be treading on our turf. Riding on the coattails of GM’s success won’t make them any less of an enemy to this country

GM is so far gone, it’ll be amazing if this Ghosn thing keeps the ship from sinking into oblivion. Of course I will never buy a Nissan if a partnership with GM arises from this. I have had way too many bad experiences with GM products to give them even a glimmer of a chance at selling me a car, Nissan parts in it or not.

GM is turning it around already, pretty soon they’ll have no unions to pay, better engineering, and it looks like Lutz is helping with the design of (some) of their cars – I think they could pull it out – and without help from French A Holes – they can go back to stitching their white flags – and the french can go F themselves.

I have changed my mind about this “alliance”… if the conditions are right and will help GM.. and not give control to Renault-Nissan and does not make GM’s vehicles crapy foreign cars, then I think GM should do it… and if the “alliance” will help GM and Nissan take out Toyota or at least lessen Toyota’s influence… more power to GM!! (gotta love GM!!)

Well its because you americans want japanese cars that their companies have grown so much. On top of that you are the reason why we have Lexus, Infinity and Acura. They sell more then Chrysler in america but it OK until they try buying and helping your brands. Then you remember Pearl Harbour and what they did.

The second largest autombile market in the world is China. GM just recently vaulted past Volkswagen into the number one position. Toyota is eighth, and Nissan isn’t in the top ten.

The problem is that there may not be a long run if the Toyota threat is not dealt with. I don’t get Toyota. Every one of their vehicles that I’ve been in has felt sub-par (Lexus IS250, new camery, 4 runner)

I think it is a win-win for GM, Nissan, and Renault. Ideally they would engage in platform sharing, killing off all of the non successful product lines, and use their excess capacity to ramp up production and reduce prices.

…Dealership consolidation could be huge as well…
