General Motors says it has added an additional 700 workers to its Oshawa, Ontario, assembly plant in order to begin production of the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible and the Buick Regal (pictured).

Camaro Convertible production is scheduled to begin in January and Regal production will transfer from Germany to Canada shortly thereafter. The automaker added the employees in order to support a second shift on the plant’s flex line.

GM says it has added 1,300 jobs to its ever-expanding Oshawa plant over the last few months, 300 of which are new hires. Oshawa currently builds the Camaro coupe and Chevrolet Impala and it recently began production of the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain in order to supplement a plant in nearby Ingersoll, Ontario.
