GM announces return of zero percent financing

06/27/2006, 2:55 PM

By admin

General Motors today confirmed the return of zero percent financing on its Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Hummer and Saab 2006 models beginning Thursday, June 29, and ending Wednesday, July 5th. Rumors of the program first surfaced yesterday. Company officials said that while 0% is back on the table, employee pricing will not return. The six-year (72 month) financing will apply to all models except the hot-selling Chevrolet Corvette, certain midsize trucks, the now-discontunued Hummer H1, the Pontiac Solstice, and the Pontiac G6 convertible, the company said. (The Saturn Sky was not mentioned because Saturn models will not be included in the program). Cadillac will offer a similar program, but for 60-month financing instead of the full 72. GM will also offer financing as low as 2.9 percent on its 2007 model year SUVs.

So much for “Banks on Wheels” – this 0% financing went from a 1-time sales booster idea to now an expected, regular-option that most of the manufacturers are forced to offer. What a way for the Industry to shoot itself in the foot in the long run!

How’s your resale for one of these badboys in a couple of years? That’s right, nill. And GM will be waiting for your “upside down” ass begging the dealer to get you out of your 3 year old junker that you still owe 50% on! Sure, they’ll offer the same wonderful financing on a 2010 model and the wheel goes round and round…

I cant figure out if you are 12 years old, or just an idiot.
