and the Tahoe Hybrid gets 6 MPG better in the city, and yes only 2 mpg better HWY. BUT check out the reviews and talk to customers (i have sold two of them) and most say they are getting around 24-26 AVERAGE! but yea, you are right its not worth it if you don’t plan on keeping the Tahoe for at least 4 years to pay it self off, but as gas prices keep going up it will take less. NO Hybrid is going to be less expensive the first couple years.

and your views and opinions on the Focus/Taurus etc are just that. So bend over and go wreeeeeeeeeehhhhhhh and share some more of them!

You know it and i know it. GM gets good fuel economy? Again, you prove my point your medication obviously isn’t working. Flex fuel is obviously helping GM. Wreeeeeehhhhh. Ohh and the tahoe hybrid was a great idea with an average mpg of 21. Lets spend 6 grand more for a hybrid that gets 2 miles more per gallon. Your also mentioning a GM that took the second biggest loss next to chrysler this quarter. Your an idiot and should consemplate OD’g in your sugar pills. Come out with something thats somewhat attractive, not the Volt and Cruze.
The Camaro should be out by now, its been in the works for 5 years. My guess is youll ask over sticker, shoot yourself in the foot, and not end up selling many. For the price it is definately under powered. posted by ihustle

lol at a Ford guy making fun of GM’s products. You got your own problems to worry about boy. And do more research before you post. The Camaro has been in the ‘works’ for only 2 years. It came out as a ‘concept’ three years ago to see interest level and from there became a development project.

And get over you self and you fleet inflated #’s. GM is still #1 overall. Who is THIRD NOW? Oh yea, Ford.

I give credit to them for at least doing something and something big and what will hit many of GM top and middle brass hard. We have three hybrids in 2009 at Chevy with best in class Fuel Economy for All SUV’s, Trucks and the new Cobalt has better Fuel Economy then the Focus, Civic or Corolla.

GM may not be the best at all they do. No one is. Toyota has seen its quality go down. Malibu got the JD Power and Associates Best Mid-Size initial quality award. The Haters can keep on hating, but of all the big boys, Toy, GM, Ford and Chrysler I’ll put my money with GM to make it out of this recession the best along with Toyota. Ford and Chrysler may or may not make it, and will have to do alot to survive.

Sounds like you guys are a bunch of “Arm Chair” CEO’s and have all of the answers. Have any of you guys sent your resumes to the manufacturers yet? At least they are attempted to do something about the problems they are facing without taking the easy way out…declaring bankruptcy. Alot of the problems that the manufacturers are facing are from decisions that were made 5 or 10 years ago by previous regimes, it takes a while to turn a boat that big around. It’s not like they work at McDonaldss and the new burger isn’t working, they can’t just take the pre-ordered burger patties and pickles and turn them into a big mac.

Start with the Lambda utes with the camshaft problems, nerve racking sporatic transmissions and water leaks. Go from there.

Second restructuring plan in 2 months for GM. Its good they are making faster changes. But its bad that they needed this second strategy just over a month after the last strategy was announced.

Maybe Lutz is spending too much time flying his helicopter around and not enough time overseeing the business.

I like how they try to sell the plan by mentioning the temporary hold on cash bonuses and how that reduces compensation by 75%. The execs will still be making a good 6 figures without the cash bonuses. Its not like they are struggling on 6 figures in Detroit (low cost of living city). Plus they were very careful to list only cash bonuses as there are more bonuses than just cash – so its not like they are not getting any bonuses.

Lutz and his crew have collected a paycheck years after they should have been kicked to the curb. They have been slow to react to market conditions while other automakers have consistently beat GM to the punch.

GM needs new leadership now. And they need to declare bankruptcy protection so they can force a renegotiation of their contracts.

What a crack of crap! They should take off those rose glasses. Every energy analyst is predicting $225/barrel before things get better. We are already in $150/barrel market and there is absolutely no indication that market stabilized.

yes, but can they survive $200 oil, an auto market that will continue to shrink, collapsing financial systems, and vicious inflation in raw materials. Hell, I doubt many of us will survive the new depression of 2010 – 2012.
