GM CEO Henderson to appear on ‘Meet the Press’ Sunday

04/02/2009, 4:20 PM

By Andrew Ganz

General Motors CEO Fritz Henderson will celebrate the one-week anniversary of his new executive position by appearing on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ on Sunday. Henderson, who replaced ousted CEO Rick Wagoner earlier this week, will be on the program to discuss GM’s plans over the next 60 days as it attempts to reorganize.

A GM spokesman confirmed to the media today that Henderson will talk about the future of both GM and Chrysler. Both companies were ordered to restructure or be forced into bankruptcy by the Obama administration.

Henderson was placed into the CEO position last weekend – he was formerly the company’s president COO.

Last week Wagoner was on a cooking show. They stuck a fork in him and he was done.

What is Henderson really going to say? “The first Captain took a lifeboat to shore, but I am sure I can navigate those icebergs as the Titanic’s Second Captain!”

Actually I was kind of thinking he could do a show with Octomom since they’re both in charge of a house full of welfare cases.

He needs to discuss how GM is going to use the chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedure to oust the union contracts and dump the unsecured debts they have. Then he needs to let everyone know where he is going on vacation after he retires on Monday. GM needs FRESH new leadership from the outside in order to survive. People will see the NEW direction they are taking and give them a second chance. If they continue with the old ideas that got them here…He was CFO…aka money chief money manager…and he won’t be able to think out of the box he made around himself. GM builds some great products and some real Shi*tty ones…he will not be able to make the hard choises. Chevy and Cadillac are the only two that should survive. But please, please don’t use the time you got discussing a merger with Chrysler…oh please NO.

@desertdriver, I don’t think so. Hitler looked insane but driven (by insanity of course). This guy looks like a drooling patient in the institution: harmless and peeing on himself. I reckon there are harmless Fritzes walking the Earth.
