The Japanese don’t buy from the Big Three anyway, so that show is a total waste of money for them. The only American items the Japanese buy are Boeing jets, Jack Daniels, Marlboro, rice, and Levis. Cars? No way.

It’s not that GM, Ford, and Chrysler dont want to go, but the Tokyo Motor SHow has a rule that all cars must look like gay happy insects, and nothing they have fits the bill.

It’s not like we have anything crazy enough to be entered into the Tokyo show anyway. All of the D3 concepts look somewhat normal still. We have yet to make a really nice wheelchair and call it a “car”.

If someone decides the show must go on, there still should be plenty of manufacturers attending. How many GM, Ford & Chrysler vehicles are sold in Japan anyway?
