wookyworker--
you seem to be very confused about gm products and their slapping different stickers on a vehicle and calling it a different brand vehicle. the acadia is a nice truck. but making its a gm product that has the same under pinnings as the buick and chevy is how gm is losing so much money. look at pontiac, they basically just added plastic pieces to chevy products and called them pontiacs.

and ricky... what? SS's are a whole different philosophy. It's just a name for a nicer trim level. Like Ford has "Lariat" or the King Ranch trim levels for all of their trucks. SuperSport philosophy is all about power and speed and being the performance champ, it's much more than a trim level, this isnt. Good for them, they offer a nice consistent higher end trim level across the lineup. What's wrong with that?

They did away with Olds and Pontiac, but still insist on keeping the redundant GMC brand alive. Why?!?!?!

"or.. they start at $31 grand, they arent going to tack $23k onto the price tag for some leather, wood, and a shiny grille." -- A4

Looking at GM's past and a few current cars, they just might

FYI to all the misinformers here: no price was given, no powertrain was given. You all just made up stuff to make your biassed points.

alsw, I think most of the vehicles in this class do go 40 mph on the freeway and nobody much cares about diesels or the OEMs would offer them and some folks would be buying them.

G.M. has done a good job of differentiating the new products, they no longer just slap a new grill on the same body and call it something else. The Acadia and Enclave couldn't look more different and appeal to very different buyers. My wife loves the Enclave but hates the Acadia, she believes the Enclave looks more like a luxury make and the Acadia more like a truck. All manufacturers use platform sharing. They do charge too much for higher trim levels but if people only wanted to buy the mechanics of a pickup for example, everyone would buy a work truck version with a few necessary options, but I see dressed up versions of every truck made and I see more of them than the stripped down versions. So a Denali trim line is not surprising at all. While Ford is putting out some nice products, the Mercury line is much more of a continued example of badge engineering than what G.M. is doing with Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac. I think the GMC and Chevy pickups need more work to differentiate them but hopefully G.M. will take care of this in the next product cycle. I have always thought the Denali line is nicer than the Cadillac versions, more luxury than base models but toned down and have a little more class than the flashier Escalades. I would buy a Denali version to satisfy my more conservative taste for the Acadia but satisfy my wife with a nicer trim level to appeal to her appeal towards the Enclave. I think it is a vehicle we both likely could live with, if it is anything like previous Denali trim lines of GMC vehicles.

I'm okay with it but I think people are right in saying that it's going to cannibalize enclave sales. I don't know bout this one GM. I'm sure it will be extremely nice though

Acadia Denali sounds like the name of a high class hooker. That's only fitting. There will always be those willing to pay a little extra for a better piece of trim.

Great!
Let's cannibalize the Enclave by selling this in the same store!

bd394: "'Ultra-lux????' I don’t think we are talking about a Rolls or Bentley here."

You're clearly capable of seeing reality.

The anti-Buick.

I'm not sure how this will fare without a higher-output engine (The 3.6L SIDI V6 is GM's top-of-the-line V6 engine), but better materials and better content will probably stir up some sales for those who still think the Enclave is an old-man's car.

So the answer is if they sell well, they can rebadge it as much as they want.

This truck is totally boring and a sea of plastic. There's nothing luxurious about this thing. But i'm sure the Denali version will be tricked out with lots of chrome and ultra soft leather.

Question - if GM is so hard on not making duplicate models and rebadging product - how are the Enclave and Acadia Denali going to co-exist in the Buick-GMC showroom?

Wy give it the DENALI name if you aren't going to put more power under the hood?? That makes no sense GM!!! The DENALIs of the past came with increased power. I'm sure the increased power was one of the main selling points, but now, it seems kind of useless to carry the DENALI name! I know you got good engines available, just use one of them!!

They know better than to ruin the SS name with an Equinox. They even gave the last one an SS bumper and a power boost and stayed far away from any trim name besides "Sport"
