General Motors is considering offering plug-in hybrids, according to a CNN report citing a source familiar with company plans. While the batteries of current hybrid vehicles are charged by the gasoline engine as well as power retrieved through braking, a plug-in hybrid can also be charged by being plugged into an electrical outlet. In May, we reported that Ford was also considering building hybrid vehicles with plug-in capability.
