General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, and BMW will unveil their respective gasoline-electric hybrid car strategies during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, according to Japan’s Daily Yomiuri Online. The U.S. and German companies earlier agreed to join forces in developing a new hybrid propulsion system for vehicles to enable the three firms to catch up with Toyota, arguably the world’s front-runner in the hybrid car field. The alliance has adopted GM’s all-new hybrid technology as the basis for the project, according to the report.
