The only thing pushed back is the press launch. Market launch is still the same and availability is still the same. GM is combining the big media events to save money, rather than pay for expensive press junkets for the launch of a model not yet in production. So the press launch prior to the LA show has been canceled, and GM will show the vehicle to journalists in Detroit instead, and with any luck the monthlies will have a big splash just in time for the market launch. The vehicles are not delayed.

The vehicles are not delayed as far as I can tell. The introduction of them at a car show has been moved back. Possible reason is they have decided to use a pilot vehicle with production intent parts instead of using a prototype with hand made parts. Huge difference in cost.

I own an Enclave and love it.

The BIGGEST problem I have with most vehicles in the Pontiac and Buick brand are they are the last to get updates. The Lucerne rides on the outdated, not to mentioned rushed at launch with mild reception, H body. At nearly $40k, there’s no excuse for the Lucerne to be front wheel drive.

IF GM is going to kill someone than SAAB should be #1 After that i’d say kill Pontiac, now i may be wrong on this but i think most Pontiac dealerships are part of Pontiac/Buick/GMC family, as opposed to Saturns stand alone dealerships.

Pontiac is useless, it is a so called”performance division”" especially G3 if you ask me….but all those cars can be sold under a Chevy brand, Pontiac can be replaces by Cobalt SS and Camaros, a car like G8 can simply be sold as a Chevy.

GM can not kill Buick because it is selling well in China, but no one know Pontiac and no one cares for it, Saturn has stand alone dealerships which may make them very hard to kill.

The coupe concept is not exactly how it will look…it’ll be beautiful. I drove the sedan over the summer and while not being quite as responsive or fun as my 5-series or a 3-series, it was the best vehicle I’ve driven from GM in….ever. It’s great. The coupe will build on that I’m sure.

how many people do you know that own a buick? really.. its a dying brand. get rid of it altogether. the lacross may be cheaper than the cts but its fugly. gm needs to release the cts-v coupe or else risk loosing the people who have been waiting around for it. why do they keep putting it off for a car that wont sell anyway?

The Buick Lacrosse needs to come out very soon. I’m not sure where your guys priorities are, but I’m pretty sure GM’s got different things in mind. The Lacrosse is going to move a lot more in terms of numbers than the CTS Coupe, and is most likely going to be the closer of the two to being a breadwinner for the company.

Quickster007- Just Toyota and Lexus? C’mon, that’s just ignorance. Toyota has Scion, Lexus, Daihatsu, Hino (light and heavy duty trucks), and growing stakes in Subaru and Isuzu. Not to mention sub brands over the years, some of those that still exist. Otherwise, Honda, Nissan, etc. don’t move nearly as many models as GM.

If you had just said that GM’s brands compete with each other… than I would have completely agreed with you. They need one European brand, one brand to carry over some of those Euro models in the U.S, bread and butter brand, and a luxury brand. Opel, Chevrolet, Cadillac, and there may very well be some room for one or two more brands (premium brand in America). There’s no need for a European premium brand, as the Euro market is already flooded with those and GM’s failed at having a luxury division, including Cadillac.

Gm’s just scared to cut off brand image. Their not willing to build that brand image over again.

If General Motors would just wise up. You don’t need 6 or 7 car division. Let me give you some example. Toyota has Lexus, Nissan has Infiniti, Honda has Acura. General Motors or the moron that’s running the company. You only need Chevrolet and Cadillac. If there is going to be a massive layoff. You basically, speeding up the process. Eventually, your going to layoff a lot of people cause nobody buying your cars and trucks. If you only have Chevrolet and Cadillac, you can make the interior of all Chevrolet comparable to what Honda, Toyota are offering. For Cadillac, make the interior comparable to a Lexus. The Cadillac Escalade is a start. Please don’t follow the Japanese in terms of car design. Lexus is fairly good looking. Honda’s and Acura’s have the ugliest looking cars & trucks sold today.

For those “waiting” for a CTS coupe … I think you might be better off looking elsewhere. Unless you’re going to lease (at a high APR) … the depreciation on any Caddy is huge. With the economic situation where it is … I think it would be silly to buy the CTS coupe.

Personally, I didn’t like the lines and the proportions. The CTS sedan is miles better in appearance but also functionality. Wait until you test drive a CTS coupe … based upon its stance and window placement, the blind spots in the back … good luck.

In the past GM said that the coupe & the “V” coupe would be released at the same time. If something has to be delayed…delaying the “V” coupe is the better move because of the “V” sedan.

Couldn’t care any less regarding the Buick but…………….delaying the CTS coupe is a H U G E mistake. Let’s face it, no one that has a German sedan on their shopping list would ever consider a owning Buick. My daily driver is in desperate need of being replaced & I’ve been waiting patiently for the CTS coupe. If it’s delayed I’m going to move onto something else & by something else….. I mean not a GM. Thanks, for wasting my time GM.
